What ideas found in these articles were your favorite ideas for using VoiceThread in the classroom? Explain. What ideas have you come up with for using VoiceThread and other Web2.0 presentation tools?
My Favorite Ideas for Using Voicethread:
I think this would be a great way to introduce a new idea, artistic style, or technique. It would interesting to try a daily post where groups of students rotated roles or hats so that they experience and learned from each perspective.
Peer reviews would need to be consistent and proper critique techniques would need to be modeled in class. Students are reluctant to say much about another students work and will typically only give positive comments. Learning how and why to give constructive criticism is a skill that needs to be modeling in class before this is done in an online format.
I like this idea because it puts the students in charge of creating their own product. This could be a great end of the year project for advanced level students to showcase their best work and the learning processes that went into creating that work.
There is also a mobile app for VoiceThread that makes using and sharing with this tool even more convenient. Right now it is available for iOS devices and is it free.
