Teacher Technology Survey (using Polldaddy)
Polldaddy has quickly become one of my favorite new assessment tools. I chose it over Google Forms for this project because I wanted to have a couple of sets of matrix questions where respondents could choose multiple answers for each question. This isn't possible in Google Forms.

The Results
What is next? Now that I have some data from about half of the teachers that I work with, I can do classroom visits to help them with their needs and goals. When visiting teachers who haven't completed the survey, I will have them use my iPad to briefly complete the survey.
Much of the information collected will also be shared with school principals and technology committees so that plans for purchases can be made. I will also be able to create a customized education technology training calendar for each school based on the unique needs of the school. Overall, I am pretty excited about the information I have been able to collect (and will continue to collect) as a result of this survey. I sent our a similar survey last year using Google Docs, but the resulting data wasn't nearly as easy to collect and interpret as it is with Polldaddy. The biggest limitation is that with a free account, I am limited to 200 responses per month. I don't think I'll have a problem with that, though, as I only work with about 150 teachers at both of my schools. |
